Nepal become first ever cricket team to score 300+ in a T20I, smash 314/3 against Mongolia in Asian Games

Nepal cricket team became the first ever team to score 300+ runs in a T20 match.
Nepal made history during the men's cricket competition of Asian Games on Wednesday by becoming the first team to score over 300 runs in a T20 International (T20I) match. They posted a remarkable total of 314 runs against Mongolia.
Kushal Malla was the star performer for Nepal, scoring an outstanding 137 not out from just 50 balls. His explosive innings included 12 sixes and eight fours. Additionally, Dipendra Singh played an extraordinary innings, hitting eight sixes in only 10 balls. He reached his fifty in just nine balls, breaking the previous record held by Yuvraj Singh, who achieved a fifty in 12 balls during the 2007 T20 World Cup.
Nepal's total of 314/3 is the highest ever recorded in T20Is, surpassing Afghanistan's 278/3 against Ireland in 2019. Nepal also set a new record for the most sixes in a T20I innings, with a total of 26, surpassing Afghanistan's previous record from 2019. Malla's century, achieved in just 34 balls, also stands as the fastest in T20I history, surpassing the previous record of 35 balls held by Rohit Sharma and David Miller.
Nepal's captain, Rohit Paudel, made a significant contribution by scoring 61 runs from just 27 balls. His innings included 2 fours and 6 sixes.
Nepal defeated Mongolia by 273 runs
After opting to field first, Mongolia made quick work of dismissing Aasif Sheikh and Kushal Bhurtel, leaving Nepal at 66/2. Rohit Paudel reached a half-century but was eventually dismissed. However, Kushal Malla's extraordinary unbeaten innings of 137* off just 50 balls, combined with Dipendra Singh Airee's rapid 52 off 10 deliveries, propelled Nepal to an imposing total of 314/3.
In the second innings, Nepal's bowlers displayed clinical precision, restricting Mongolia to a mere 41 runs. This comprehensive bowling performance paved the way for Nepal to secure a record-breaking victory by 273 runs in the 1st T20I match of the Asian Games Men's Cricket competition.
