Netherlands announce 15-members squad for ICC Cricket World Cup 2023

Netherlands will play Pakistan in their World Cup 2023 opener in Hyderabad on October 6.
Netherlands named the experienced duo of Roelof van der Merwe and Colin Ackermann in their 15-members ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 squad on September 7, 2023. The two were added to the team to reinforce their wealth of experience, even though they weren't members of the group that represented the Netherlands in the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup qualifier earlier this year.
Netherlands qualified for the ICC World Cup 2023 via a runners-up finish at the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup qualifier tournament and will be led in the mega event by Scott Edwards.
Both Colin Ackermann and Roelof van der Merwe were part of Netherlands side that played in the T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia. Ackermann was Netherlands' second-leading runs scorer at the competition, and Van Der Merwe had some useful cameos with the bat, the ball, and the pitch. Both players have plenty of experience competing in domestic tournaments all around the world.
Max O’Dowd to open the innings for Netherlands
While star all-rounder Bas de Leede is anticipated to play a significant role with both the bat and the ball, the Netherlands will be hoping that opening hitter Max O'Dowd can contribute a lot of runs throughout the tournament.
Netherlands will play two warm-up games of World Cup against Australia on September 30 and the hosts, India, on October 3. Both games will be coached by the seasoned Ryan Cook.
Their first contest at the World Cup will come against Pakistan in Hyderabad on October 6.
Netherlands squad: Scott Edwards (c), Max O'Dowd, Bas de Leede, Vikram Singh, Teja Nidamanuru, Paul van Meekeren, Colin Ackermann, Roelof van der Merwe, Logan van Beek, Aryan Dutt, Ryan Klein, Wesley Barresi, Saqib Zulfiqar, Shariz Ahmad, Sybrand Engelbrecht.
