NED vs SL: Netherlands playing XI vs Sri Lanka, Match 19, ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 - Predicted
Netherlands will face Sri Lanka in match No.19 of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 in Lucknow.
Netherlands made it to the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 after a brilliant performance in the World Cup qualifiers in Zimbabwe. Though they started the competition with two defeats against Pakistan and New Zealand, they bounced back pretty well with a tremendous win over South Africa. Netherlands looked tremendously good and registered a historic win, their first against a test-playing nation in the World Cup.
Now, they will have another chance to make history. They will face Sri Lanka in their next game on Saturday at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow. Sri Lanka have lost all three matches and will be under pressure, while Netherlands can take advantage. Here, we will talk about the predicted playing XI for Netherlands in Lucknow.
NED vs SL: Netherlands' Predicted playing XI vs Sri Lanka
1. Vikramjit Singh :
Vikramjit Singh looked good in the first game against Pakistan and smashed a half-century. However, he got out cheaply in the next two matches, but he showed that he can be very aggressive when he gets going. The left-hander is a free-flowing batter and can take on the attack, which his team will want him to do.
2. Max O'Dowd :
Max O'Dowd has had a few starts so far but hasn't converted them into big ones. But after the win in the last game, he will feel confident and will look to play well in the coming game. He is a big striker of the ball and can be a game-changer in the big match against Sri Lanka.
3. Colin Ackermann :
Colin Ackermann has been an in-form player for Netherlands. He has been among the runs and has also picked up a few wickets as well. Ackermann has scored 98 runs in three games at 32.66 and also taken three wickets. And with his experience, he will be a key player for his team in the match.
4. Bas de Leede :
Bas de Leede will be the player to watch out for. He is the superstar on this team and can win games in both the departments. The star all-rounder has been in great form for his team. He scored 87 runs with the bat which included a brilliant half-century in the first game against Pakistan. He has also taken seven wickets with the ball.
5. Teja Nidamanuru :
Teja Nidamanuru is an attacking batter who loves to take on the bowling attack. Though he has not performed as per his standard, he has had some good starts. Nidamanuru will be eager to play a big innings for his team to help them register another win of this tournament and is quite capable of doing that.
6. Scott Edwards (c & wk) :
Netherlands captain, Scott Edwards, was the man who led his team to victory in the last game against South Africa. He played a captain's innings and scored an unbeaten 78 off 69 when South African bowlers were dominating. He will look to do something similar like that and take his team to yet another win on Saturday.
7. Sybrand Engelbrecht :
Sybrand Engelbrecht has played two games the ongoing tournament and scored 48 runs, which is not bad either. But he is yet to play a big innings. He can play spin and pace well, which makes him an important member of this side. His team will hope for him to make an impact in the game against Sri Lanka.
8. Logan van Beek :
After missing the second game against New Zealand, Logan van Beek made a comeback against South Africa and took 3/60 to help his team win the game. He is an important player in this line-up who can also contribute with the bat in hand. Logan will look to carry on the momentum and deliver another match-winning performance against Sri Lanka.
9. Roelof van der Merwe :
Veteran spin all-rounder Roelof van der Merwe is another strong link in this line-up. He had a dream game against his former team South Africa in Dharamsala. He took 2/34 with the ball and played a cameo of 29 off 19 with the bat. He looked pumped in that game and will gain immense confidence to help his team get an advantage against Sri Lanka as well.
10. Aryan Dutt :
Aryan Dutt made quite an impact against South Africa with both bat and ball. He played a brilliant cameo of 23 off nine deliveries with the bat and then bowled five overs for just 19 runs to put South African top-order under pressure. His role will be pretty similar, and he can put pressure on Sri Lankan inexperienced top-order in Lucknow, where the pitch helps the spinners.
11. Paul van Meekeren :
Paul van Meekeren has been the pick of the bowlers for Netherlands in this tournament. He has taken five wickets in three innings and has been troubling the batters. He is a complete bowler who can swing the ball at pace and also hit at the deck to get extra bounce. Sri Lanka's top-order will find it hard to play against him.
