Watch: New 'Mauka Mauka' ad released ahead of India vs Pakistan match in ICC Cricket World Cup 2023

'Mauka Mauka' was first introduced during the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 in Australia and New Zealand.
ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 is just a few days away. Preparations have begun for the mega event set to take place in India across 10 different venues. Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad has big matches to host in the upcoming tournament. Along with the opening fixture between England and New Zealand, Ahmedabad will also host the finals on November 19 and the big business India vs Pakistan clash on October 14.
Mauka Mauka returns
The official broadcaster of ICC events, Star Sport, released a new version of the ‘Mauka Mauka’ ad ahead of the big India vs Pakistan clash build-up. ‘Mauka Mauka’ was first introduced among the fans at the World Cup 2015. This ad highlights Indian dominance over Pakistan in World Cup games. ‘Mauka Mauka’ portrays Pakistan getting another opportunity to open their account against team India in World Cup, but they always succumb to the pressure.
The new ad again highlights the same, with Ravindra Jadeja as the protagonist. A little twist has been added as the new Star Sports tagline going into World Cup is ODI ka Bhoot (The ghost of ODI). The ad represents Indian and Pakistani fans as ghosts, and they are waiting for their favourite team’s win. Indian fans are waiting for their eighth win against Pakistan in the 50-overs World Cup, while Pakistani fans are awaiting their maiden win against India.
Team India have defeated Pakistan seven times in the World Cup, in every game, they met Pakistan in the 50-overs World Cup. In any World Cup event, Pakistan have won only once against team India. In the 2021 T20 World Cup, Babar Azam led the side defeated India by 10 wickets, and that was the only victory they had against India in any World Cup event. Other than that, they have drawn a big zero in their stats taking on India since their first World Cup meeting in 1992.
Both teams played two games against each other in Asia Cup 2023. The game in group round was a washout after the first innings, while India defeated Pakistan in the super 4 round convincingly. Fans are eagerly waiting for this high-voltage clash at Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad. The 2023 World Cup will begin on October 5, with defending champions England taking on New Zealand.
