New Zealand announce squad for England ODIs ahead of ICC Cricket World Cup 2023

Trent Boult makes his return to New Zealand ODI Squad for England Tour ahead of ICC Cricket World Cup 2023
With not much time left before the start of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 in India, every team is busy in the preparation of the mega event. Every team is making the necessary changes and planning according to the World Cup’s needs. In that regard, New Zealand have also made some necessary changes in order to cover up the areas that need rectification. The Black Caps were runners-up in the last two editions.
They lost the final in 2015 against Australia and then lost the 2019 final against England in an unfortunate way. Though they will look to do well in the upcoming tournament. Notably, the first game of the Cricket World Cup 2023 will see a clash between England and New Zealand on October 5 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
New Zealand bring back left-arm pacer Trent Boult for England ODI series ahead of Cricket World Cup 2023
New Zealand will tour England for four T20Is and four ODIs. The tour will start on August 30 with the first T20I game at the Riverside Ground, while the ODI series will kick off on September 8 in Cardiff. It will be ideal preparation for both teams just before the upcoming world cup in India. New Zealand announced the 15-member squad for England on Wednesday.
It saw the return of experienced left-arm pacer Trent Boult along with Kyle Jamieson. All-rounder Michael Bracewell is not part of the squad because of his achilles injury. Tom Latham will be leading the side in the absence of Kane Williamson, who got injured during the IPL 2023 and has been doing his rehab. Though there has been some news of him starting practice. But he is not part of the squad.
On the other hand, the New Zealand Cricket Board (NZC) also announced the squad for the T20I series against England. It saw Tim Southee leading the team with some new faces. Notably, New Zealand will play three T20Is against UAE before the England tour. That series will take place between August 17 and 20, before the Kiwis fly to UK.
