New Zealand announces squad for UAE, England T20Is, Foxcroft and Adi Ashok receives maiden call up

Kyle Jamieson is back in the squad while Dean Foxcroft and Adi Ashok earned their maiden call-up.

New Zealand, who will be playing three-match T20I series against the UAE men, will travel with a second-string squad and will be without their regular players like Devon Conway, Matt Henry, Finn Allen and Glenn Philips.

Instead, they have included comparatively new faces including Chad Bowes, Henry Shipley, Will Young and Cole McConchie. Adi Ashok and Dean Foxcroft have been added to the squad as well.

Adi Ashok is one of the youngsters who have impressed in the recent New Zealand domestic season. The young spinner who recently featured in the U19 World Cup bagged 19 wickets in his debut Plunket Shield season for Auckland.

Dean Foxcroft, a South Africa-born cricketer, was the pillar in the Otago Volts line-up in the last edition. The 25-year-old all-rounder notched up 631 runs and bagged seven wickets for Otago in the Plunket Shield. He was also the leading run-scorer for Otago in the Men's Super Smash with 424 runs at a 131.66 strike rate. Notably, both Adi Ashok and Dean Foxcroft were a part of the New Zealand A squad.

New Zealand's top players, including Devon Conway and Glenn Phillips, will be back for the England tour. A notable addition to the squad is Kyle Jamieson. The pacer has been out of action since February due to injury. He is all set to return to the team. Kane Williamson and Michael Bracewell will miss out because of injury.

New Zealand will travel to Dubai and will face UAE in three-match T20I series from August 17 to 20. The team will travel to England and will play four T20Is from August 30 to September 5.
