New Zealand met spiritual guru Dalai Lama before Australia clash on Saturday.

New Zealand have gotten off to a flying start in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023. Despite their loss against India in the last game in Dharamsala, they are still in second place in the points table with 8 points and are looking pretty good to qualify for the semi-finals. They have beaten teams like England, Netherlands, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan comprehensively.

In the next few games, New Zealand will face five-time champion Australia. That match will take place on October 28 (Saturday) at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala, where they played against India on Sunday. However, ahead of the game, Kiwis are on a two-day break, New Zealand cricket team took the opportunity to meet Tibetan spiritual leader Dalai Lama.

Ahead of the all-important clash against Australia on Saturday in Dharamsala, Kiwi cricket team reached out to meet the Tibetan spiritual leader. Dalai Lama himself shared a picture of meetings with New Zealand cricket team. He wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter), "HHDL is meeting with players and their families of the New Zealand cricket team at his residence in Dharamsala, HP, India, on October 24, 2023."

Notably, with the game against India on Sunday, Black Caps have already experienced the iconic and beautiful scenery of the Dharamsala. They had a pretty close game against India and did pretty well with both bat and ball. New Zealand will be aware of the conditions offered in Dharamsala, which might end in their favour.

Speaking of the game, New Zealand made 273 runs against India. Daryl Mitchell smashed a brilliant hundred and scored 130 runs. With the ball, New Zealand had their chances, but India were too good to handle. Virat Kohli played a brilliant innings of 95 runs and took India home before getting out. India made 274/6 in 48 overs and won the game to move to the top of the table.
