New Zealand to tour Bangladesh for three-match ODI series ahead of ICC Cricket World Cup 2023

New Zealand will tour Bangladesh for the first time since 2013 for a multi-format tour ahead of CWC 2023.
In preparation for the upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, every team is trying to get used to the conditions they will get in India. That is why almost every SENA country has scheduled some of their teams tours of the subcontinent. In addition, the New Zealand Cricket Board (NZC) has also announced their tour of Bangladesh for ODIs and Tests, just ahead of the upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup 2023.
This will be the first time in ten years that New Zealand will travel to Bangladesh for a multi-format bilateral series. Both teams will play three ODIs and two Tests on that tour. The last time they played a series in Bangladesh was in 2013. On Thursday, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) announced the complete schedule for the tour. The ODI series will be important for both teams to get prepared for the mega event after that.
New Zealand and Bangladesh will play three ODIs and two Tests ahead of ICC Cricket World Cup 2023
Notably, the tour will start with three ODIs, starting on September 21, while the other two games will be played on September 23 and 26, and both teams will then move on to India for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023. The second leg of series will have two tests, which will start after the conclusion of the World Cup. Both teams will play the first test starting on November 28 and the second test will start on December 6. The venues for two tests will be announced later
The two-match test series is part of the ongoing World Test Championship cycle, which is also important for both teams going forward. All three ODIs will be played at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka. The squads have yet to be announced. However, both teams will be same that will play in the upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup 2023.
New Zealand tour of Bangladesh 2023 schedule:
1st ODI – September 21, Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium, Dhaka
2nd ODI – September 23, Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium, Dhaka
3rd ODI – September 26, Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium, Dhaka
1st Test – November 28-December 2, Venue TBA
2nd Test – December 6-December 10, Venue TBA
The runners-up of the 2015 and 2019 World Cups, New Zealand, will start their World Cup campaign in the opening game against the defending champions England on October 5 at Narendra Modi Stadium. On the other hand, Bangladesh will start their tournament on October 7 against Afghanistan at HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala. These two teams will lock horns with each other in the World Cup on October 13 in Chennai.
