Azmatullah Omarzai becomes No. 1 all-rounder, Virat Kohli re-enters top 5 in latest ICC ODI rankings

Virat Kohli was named Player of the match against Australia in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 semi-final.
Virat Kohli‘s match-winning knock against Australia in the first semi-final of ICC Champions Trophy 2025 has helped him re-enter the top five of the ICC ODI batting rankings.
Chasing 265, Virat led India with an 84 off 98 balls to guide them to a four-wicket win. He has now moved one spot to fourth position with rating points of 747.
Despite back-to-back failures against New Zealand and Australia, Shubman Gill remains at the top of the batting charts, followed by Babar Azam. Heinrich Klaasen is placed third, while Rohit Sharma has dropped two places to fifth.
Afghanistan opener Ibrahim Zadran has made the biggest leap, moving up 13 places to 10th position following his 177-run knock against England in Lahore.

Afghanistan all-rounder Azmatullah Omarzai has now been crowned the No. 1 all-rounder in the ICC ODI rankings, surpassing his teammate Mohammad Nabi to achieve his career-high rating of 296.
The milestone comes after a stellar ICC Champions Trophy 2025 campaign, where he took seven wickets in three games, including a match-winning 5/58 against England.
With the bat, Omarzai scored 126 runs at an average of 42.00 and a strike rate of 104.13, with crucial contributions against England and Australia.

On the bowling front, Maheesh Theekshana remains the No.1 ranked bowler with 680 rating points. New Zealand pacer Matt Henry has jumped three places to move to the third spot and is now just 11 rating points behind second-placed Keshav Maharaj.
Leading wicket-taker of the Champions Trophy 2025, Mohammed Shami has climbed three spots and now holds the 11th position. The Indian team will hope Shami fares well in the final and breaks into the top 10 rankings. Indian wrist-spinner Kuldeep Yadav, who has managed only five wickets in four games of the ongoing ICC Champions Trophy 2025, has dropped down three places to sixth spot.
