PAK vs BAN: Liton Das donates prize money to flood victims in Bangladesh

Liton Das scored 56 runs in the first innings against Pakistan in the first test in Rawalpindi.
In a heartwarming gesture, Bangladesh wicket-keeper batter Liton Das announced that he will donate his prize money for the flood victims in Bangladesh. Liton received the ‘Energetic Batter Of The Match’ award after his side’s historic 10-wicket win over Pakistan at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi on August 25.
The Najmul Hossain Shanto-led Bangladesh scripted history as they defeated Pakistan for the first time in test cricket. Bangladesh also became the first team to thrash Pakistan by 10 wickets in their own backyard.
Earlier in the match, Pakistan’s wicket-keeper batter Mohammad Rizwan’s 171-run knock helped them put up a total of 448 runs in the first innings before declaring.
In reply, Bangladesh veteran batter Mushfiqur Rahim played an outstanding knock of 191 runs, which powered the visitors to 565 runs. Rahim’s crucial knock helped Bangladesh take a 117-run lead.
In the third innings, Pakistan’s wicket-keeper batter Mohammad Rizwan scored 51 runs, but Bangladesh spinners Mehidy Hasan Miraz (4/21) and Shakib Al Hasan (3/44) bundled out the hosts for 146 runs, with Pakistan managing to set a target of just 30 runs.
While chasing, Bangladesh openers Zakir Hasan (15*) and Shadman Islam (9*) helped visitors win the match by 10 wickets.

Bangladesh wicket-keeper batter Liton Das, who won the Energetic Batter Of The Match award for his 56-run knock in the first innings, announced that he will donate his prize money for the flood victims in Bangladesh.
The star cricketer announced this news on his Instagram handle, where he shared his image with the prize money and also wrote heartwarming caption.
“We’ve defeated Pakistan in a Test match for the first time, and I’m thrilled and proud to have contributed to this victory. However, due to the flood situation in our country, I can’t fully enjoy this win; my heart remains with those back home. I’m announcing that I will donate the prize money I received as the Energetic Player of the Match to the flood victims. To everyone back home, please come forward and help as much as you can. The greater the challenge, the stronger our unity. Bangladesh will not lose. 🙏🏻,” Liton Das wrote on Instagram.
