Pakistan won all three T20I matches against Australia.

The Pakistan Cricket Team achieved a spectacular clean sweep against the Australian Cricket Team (PAK vs AUS) in a three-match T20I series on February 1 (Sunday). Salman Agha & Co. won all the matches like a walk in a park, restricting any chance of a comeback to the Men-in-Yellow.

With their stunning spin attack and brilliant teamwork in batting, Pakistan crushed Australia by 22 runs in the first game, followed by victories by 90 runs and 111 runs in the next two encounters. Pakistan captain Salman Agha was adjudged Player of the Series for his magnificent performance with the bat.

In the opening game, the Men-in-Green bagged a victory against the Aussies in T20I cricket after seven years. By winning the third encounter, they gave a glimpse of their home supremacy.

Following Australia‘s humiliating whitewash in the campaign, below are the three crucial reasons for their poor performance against Pakistan.

3. Inexperienced pace attack

Notably, the Kangaroos were short of experienced pacers like Pat Cummins and Josh Hazlewood in the campaign. Both of them are battling injuries. Moreover, Nathan Ellis was also ruled out of the series after sustaining an injury in the Big Bash League 2025-26.

In their absence, the pace unit of Xavier Bartlett, Ben Dwarshius, and Mahli Beardman struggled to dominate Pakistan’s batters in all three games.

2. Openers failed to go big

Mitchell Marsh, Travis Head, and Matthew Short featured as openers for the Kangaroos as the visitors opted for three different sets for the top order in all matches.

However, the opening combination did not work out in any games as they failed to provide a strong start to batting. Therefore, their top-order batting woes turned out to be a big hurdle in the campaign.

1. Inefficiency against Pakistan spinners

Kangaroo batters thoroughly struggled to make a mark against Pakistan’s spin unit. The Men-in-Yellow’s top and middle orders struggled to score big runs in this series. In the last two games, Australia’s many key batters were dismissed in single digits.

Furthermore, their inability to cope with Pakistan’s spin attack was clearly evident during this campaign. For instance, spinners like Mohammad Nawaz, Abrar Ahmed, and Shadab Khan ended as leading wicket-takers for the hosts in the series.
