The PAK vs BAN first test saw only a handful of spectators inside in the stadium on the first three days.

On August 23, 2024, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced free entry for spectators for the remaining days (fourth and fifth) of the ongoing opening test of the two-match series between Pakistan and Bangladesh at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi.

This development comes after a low turnout of spectators in the stadium on the first three days of the first test.

The PCB said in their statement, “The decision was made keeping in view of the weekend, which will allow families and students to turn up in maximum numbers to support their cricketing stars and witness action between the two sides”

The ongoing two-match test series between the two nations is also part of the ongoing ICC World Test Championship 2023-25 Cycle. Both matches will be played at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

Fans who have already bought tickets for the fourth and fifth days will get a refund: PCB

The board further added that fans who have already purchased tickets for the remaining two tests of the ongoing first test will get a refund. The board confirmed that a free shuttle bus service will also continue on two routes during matches to ease access to the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium for fans.

Fans who have already brought tickets for the fourth and fifth days will get a refund. Tickets bought online will be automatically refunded to the credit/debit card used for purchase. For tickets purchased at Express Centres, the fans are requested to bring their original ticket to the centre to get a refund,” the statement read.

The statement further added that the free entry policy will not apply to the tickets purchased for the PCB Gallery or Platinum Box.

“Spectators are required to bring their original CNIC or B-form to enter the stadium and they will be able to watch the action free of cost from any of the VIP enclosures (Imran Khan and Javed Miandad) (for families only) and premium enclosures (Miran Baksh, Shoaib Akhtar, Sohail Tanvir and Yasir Arafat),” the statement added.

In the ongoing first test, host Pakistan have made a stellar comeback after losing the first three wickets inside 20 runs. With the help of stunning knocks by Saud Shakeel (141) and wicket-keeper batter Mohammad Rizwan (171*), the hosts declared their first innings score of 448-6. In reply, Bangladesh have made 221-5 in 74 overs and are currently trailing by 224 runs.
