PAK vs BAN: The two-match Test series between Pakistan and Bangladesh will start on August 21.

The two-match test series between Pakistan and Bangladesh is all set to get underway on August 21. The first test is scheduled to take place at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

Just three days before the first test, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has made a major change in the venue of the second test.

After the first game, the second PAK vs BAN test was originally scheduled to be played from August 30 at the National Stadium in Karachi. But the PCB has shifted the venue.

The second game will also take place at Rawalpindi Stadium. As per the previous schedule, the Karachi test was supposed to be held behind closed doors with no spectators. However, the PCB has now shifted the venue and Rawalpindi will host both tests.

PAK vs BAN: The second test shifted to Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium from National Stadium

Earlier, the PCB announced that there won’t be any spectators allowed during the second test match at the National Stadium in Karachi because of the ongoing construction work in the stadium. The redevelopment work is happening to get the stadium ready for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.

Hence, after deliberation, the PCB has shifted the Karachi test to Rawalpindi, where fans can enter the stadium and watch the game. There were other reasons as well.

On Sunday, the PCB said in a press release, “We have been guided by the construction experts on the timelines for the readiness of the [National Stadium in Karachi]. They advised that while construction could continue during playing hours, the resulting noise pollution would disturb the cricketers.”

The statement further stated, “The PCB, after consulting all stakeholders and reviewing operational and logistical matters, has decided to hold both Tests in Rawalpindi.

Notably, the National Stadium will also host a test match against England from October 15.

The PCB said, “At this stage, we will not like to speculate on the hosting of the second Test in Karachi from 15-19 October and will continue to work closely with the architects and construction experts on the safe and secure hosting of the match, while keeping the England and Wales Cricket Board updated.”
