PAK vs SL Super Four Match 6 will decide who will qualify for the Asia Cup 2023 final to face India.
Colombo rain and Asia Cup 2023 have been a thrilling story in the last two weeks in cricket. Once again, the rain has made its presence felt in the tournament as Pakistan and Sri Lanka gear up to take on each other for a place in Asia Cup 2023 finals. India have already qualified for the finals after winning the first two super four games. Sri Lanka and Pakistan both have a chance to face the Rohit Sharma-led team India on September 17 in Colombo. It is a must-win game for both teams, as the winning team will qualify for the finals.
Who will qualify for the finals from PAK vs SL match ?
Rain has been a constant feature in the tournament, and the toss is delayed in Sri Lanka vs Pakistan clash in Colombo due to heavy showers that happened just an hour ago in the capital city of Colombo. Khettarama is still waiting for a dry cricket day since the action has shifted to the city. There is a high possibility that rain may make both Sri Lanka and Pakistan tie with each other in the points table. In this case, net run rate will become an important factor in determining the finalists for Asia Cup 2023.
Pakistan and Sri Lanka have won one game each in the super four round and share the same number of points. Both teams have 2 points each after playing their 2 fixtures in the super 4 round. Sri Lanka (-0.200) have a better net run rate than Pakistan (-1.892) with one remaining fixture. Pakistan suffered a crushing defeat against India by 228 runs, while Sri Lanka suffered a close margin setback in their previous encounter. India defeated Sri Lanka by just 41 runs in a low-scoring run chase.
Sri Lanka will be joining in to play India in Asia Cup 2023 finals on September 17 in Colombo in case of a complete washout. Pakistan need to win this encounter anyway to meet their arch-rivals India. The umpires and authorities will try their best to have a 20-overs game at least to determine the finalists with action on the ground. Bangladesh are knocked out of the tournament, but they have one more remaining fixture in the super 4 round against India on September 15 at R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.
