Pakistan and USA are set to clash on February 10 at the Sinhalese Sports Club in Colombo.

After a close-fought victory against the Netherlands in their opening game, Pakistan are set to clash with the United Arab Emirates (PAK vs USA) in their next encounter of the T20 World Cup 2026. Both sides will face each other on February 10 in the 12th match of the 20-team tournament.

The PAK vs USA clash will be a crucial game and attract a lot of attention. Notably, the USA defeated Pakistan in the previous edition of the T20 World Cup by bagging a victory in the super over. The defeat also led to Pakistan’s humiliating first-round exit in the tournament.

Now, the USA will aim to replicate their heroics against them once again. On the other hand, the Salman Agha & Co. will leave no stone unturned to avenge their previous defeat. Although Pakistan are much more powerful and experienced team than the USA, below are three reasons why they could lose the encounter.

3. Pakistan’s struggles in batting

In their opening game against the Netherlands, Pakistan suffered a big batting collapse. Although they had an achievable 148-run target in front of them, their key batters lost their wickets cheaply.

At one stage, they railed at 114/7 before Faheem Ashraf rescued them from a big upset with his quickfire 11-ball-29. If they suffer a similar scenario against the USA, they will be in huge trouble.

2. Shaheen Afridi and Babar Azam’s poor form

Shaheen Afridi and Babar Azam are among the most experienced members in Pakistan’s squad. However, both the senior players struggled with their form in the previous game.

Shaheen Afridi leaked runs at an economy of 9.30 and was also stopped from completing his quota of four overs. Babar scored 15 runs off 18 deliveries before losing his wicket at a crucial moment. Their poor form could add woes to Pakistan’s struggles against the USA.

1. USA’s fabulous bowling unit

The USA gave a wonderful performance in their opening clash against India in the T20 World Cup. They dismissed crucial Indian batters for cheap scores, restricting them at 77/6 at one stage.

Despite India having the home advantage in the match, USA dominated them with their wonderful bowling show. If USA come up with a similar bowling attack against Pakistan, they can surely overpower them.
