Abrar Ahmed and Kamran Ghulam will join Pakistan Shaheens ahead of the second four-day game against Bangladesh A.
The two-match test series between Pakistan and Bangladesh will start on August 21, when both teams will lock horns at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. Shan Masood will lead the hosts, while Najmul Hossain Shanto has been given the responsibility to lead Bangladesh.
This is the first series for Shan Masood as captain in Pakistan. His debut series was a disaster, as Pakistan lost 0-3 to Australia. However, the hosts have made a few notable changes to their squad just a few days ahead of the first Test in Rawalpindi.
Pakistan have released spinner Abrar Ahmed and uncapped top-order batter Kamran Ghulam from the squad. These two youngsters will join Pakistan Shaheens ahead of the second four-day contest against Bangladesh ‘A.’

The second four-day game between Pakistan Shaheens and Bangladesh ‘A’ will kick off on August 20 in Islamabad. The decision to release spinner Abrar was made after the team management opted to go with an all-out pace attack in the first Test.
The upcoming series is part of the ongoing World Test Championship 2023-25, and Pakistan, who are currently fifth on the table, need to win this series to improve their standings. Abrar has been part of the team for a while now but hasn’t had many chances in the playing XI.
Hence, Pakistan released him to give him some match practice in the four-day match against Bangladesh ‘A.’ The second Test of the series will start on August 30 in Lahore, and both Abrar and Kamran Ghulam are likely to join the team before the start of the second Test.
A number of players who were part of the Pakistan Shaheens squad for the first four-day game have joined Pakistan’s senior Test team: Mir Hamza, Mohammad Ali, Mohammad Huraira, Naseem Shah, Saim Ayub, Sarfaraz Ahmed, and Saud Shakeel.
However, with the return of Abrar and Kamran, along with Ali Zaryab, Imam Ul Haq, Mohammad Awais Anwar, Rohail Nazir, Niaz Khan, Qasim Akram, and Sharoon Siraj, Pakistan Shaheens continue to remain a strong unit.
