The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Sunday, August 17th, announced Pakistan squad for the upcoming tri-series against Afghanistan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the Asia Cup 2025. The T20I series will be played between 29 August to 7 September, while the Asia Cup will begin on 9th September.
Babar Azam, who is the leading run-getter for Pakistan in the T20Is, hasn’t been picked in the team for the tournament. Along with him, there was also no place for ODI skipper Mohammad Rizwan as the PCB went ahead with the young guns for the tournament.
Pakistan will be captained by Salman Ali Agha in Asia Cup 2025. Fakhar Zaman, who got injured during the West Indies tour, has also been named in the team. This means that he is expected to get fit by the time the tri-series and the eight-nation tournament begin.
