Pakistan Cricket Team announce men's squad for Asian Games

Pakistan have named a second-string squad for the Asian Games to be played in Hangzhou, China.
The Pakistan Cricket Board announced their men’s and women’s squads for the upcoming Asia Games event in China. As the biggest Asian sporting event schedule clashes with the biggest World event in Cricket, Top Asian teams will be sending their second-string squad to take part in the men’s event. While everyone will play in the women’s event with full strength.
India had already announced their squad with Ruturaj Gaikwad leading the team. Similarly, Pakistan announced young all-rounder Qasim Akram as captain of the men’s team, while Nida Dar will be leading the women’s team. Cricket events will run from 28th September to 7th October in Asian Games.

Pakistan have announced a 15-member squad with 8 members already representing Pakistan on the international stage while the others will get their maiden opportunity for their country. Pakistan Shaheens (men’s) have included Shahnawaz Dahani, Khushdil Shah, Haider Ali, Asif Ali, Mohammed Hasnain, Usman Qadir, Arshad Iqbal, and Aamir Jamal as the experienced members of the squad.
Captain of the team Qasim Akram and vice-captain Omair Yousuf are yet to make their debut on the international stage. Recently Pakistan Shaheens had a wonderful win in the ACC Emerging Cup title in Sri Lanka.
Pakistan will directly enter the quarter-final round of the event starting on 3rd October. A total of 15 teams will take part in the Cricket event. Most of the senior members of the squad will be busy playing in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 in India.
World Cup is also scheduled to start in late September with teams taking part in the warm-up games. The Main World Cup league round will commence on 5th October. Pakistan will be playing their opening fixture in the World Cup against the Netherlands at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad.
