Rohit Sharma-led India will face off Pakistan on October 14 in Ahmedabad.

Pakistan cricketers, in a video shared by ICC, swooned over India captain Rohit Sharma’s pull shot ahead of the India vs. Pakistan clash in the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2023. The two arch-rivals will face off on October 14, 2023, at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

This will be the 8th meeting between India and Pakistan in ODI Cricket World Cups. India defeated Pakistan in 1992, 1996, 1999, 2003, 2011, 2015, and 2019 editions of the World Cup. The 1996 World Cup match in Bangalore was a quarter-final and the 2011 World Cup encounter in Mohali was the semi-final.

Both the teams had their practice sessions under lights in Ahmedabad and enjoyed the hospitality that they received in the Gujarat state.

While the focus will be on the rivalry between India and Pakistan, India captain Rohit Sharma will also have some attention on himself. He recently scored his 31st ODI century, which came against Afghanistan in Delhi. This was also his 7th century in World Cups and he broke Sachin Tendulkar’s record of 6 World Cup tons. He also became the joint-fastest, along with David Warner, to score 1000 runs in World Cups, in 19 innings.

More notably, Rohit Sharma went past Chris Gayle’s record of 553 sixes, to become the highest six hitter in international cricket and now has 556 maximums to his name. The Indian team fans will definitely want him to add to that tally in the Pakistan match in Ahmedabad.

Pakistan players pick Rohit Sharma as the best player of a pull shot

Meanwhile, ahead of the India vs Pakistan match in Ahmedabad, ICC shared a video in which multiple Pakistani players were asked about which player plays the pull shot the best. The unanimous answer from the likes of Haris Rauf, Hassan Ali, Shadab Khan, and Babar Azam amongst others was India captain Rohit Sharma
