Pat Cummins is eager to lift the Border Gavaskar Trophy for the first time in his career.

Australian cricket team test captain Pat Cummins is eager to win the prestigious Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) 2024-25, which the Indian cricket team have been holding since 2017.

The upcoming Border Gavaskar Trophy will be played from November 22, 2024, to January 7, 2025. Australia and India will play a test series consisting of five matches for the first time since the 1991-92 series.

India’s recent success on Australian soil, which saw them clinch two consecutive series (2018-19 and 2020-21), has filled up everyone with so much more anticipation and excitement.

Ahead of the five-match test series against India, Cummins has decided to take a two-month break in order to stay fresh and injury-free during the five test matches.

You back yourself to win every series at home: Pat Cummins

The Australian test skipper Pat Cummins pointed out that the prestigious Border-Gavaskar Trophy is the only trophy he hasn’t won yet in his career. He’s played in the last four test series against India, all of which the Asian team won.

“It’s the trophy I haven’t won before… this is the one trophy a lot of our group haven’t ticked off. We’ve achieved some amazing things over the last few years as a Test group. You kind of back yourself to win every series at home. I think you need to try and be up there in the upper echelon of teams. That’s what lies ahead of us this summer. They’re a really good side. We play them quite a lot, we know them really well, but we feel like we’re really well placed also,” Pat Cummins was quoted as saying by Fox Sports.

India’s tour of Australia 2024-25 schedule:

November 22-26: 1st test, Perth Stadium, Perth (D)

December 6-10: 2nd test, Adelaide Oval, Adelaide (D/N)

December 14-18: 3rd test, The Gabba, Brisbane (D)

December 26-30: 4th test, MCG, Melbourne (D)

January 3-7: 5th Test, SCG, Sydney (D)
