Pat Cummins has been ruled out of the first test of The Ashes 2025-26.

Australian Cricket Team’s captain Pat Cummins has resumed his bowling in the nets and is on track to return in the second game of The Ashes 2025-26. The right-arm pacer has been ruled out of the first test against England Cricket Team, which will be played at the Optus Stadium in Perth, scheduled to commence on November 21.

Cummins has been out of the field since July 2025 due to a stress injury of the back. He last featured in the test series against the West Indies. There were reports which claimed that Cummins might miss the entire series against England, but thankfully it was restricted to only one game. In his absence, Steve Smith will captain Australia in the Perth.

Cummins, who is eyeing his comeback in the second test of The Ashes 2025-26 at The Gabba, Brisbane on December 4, is currently training hard in the nets to get back to his fitness ahead of the second game. The right-arm pacer has not experienced any significant pain in his back in recent times, with no signs of recurrence of the stress injury.
