PBKS provide major update on Arshdeep Singh's fitness ahead of IPL 2026 playoffs

Punjab Kings (PBKS) pacer Arshdeep Singh has struggled to perform at his best in the Indian Premier League 2026. The left-arm pacer has clinched 14 wickets in 13 games so far at an economy of 9.78.

Although he is PBKS’ leading wicket-taker, he proved expensive in some matches and failed to take wickets at crucial moments.

Some rumours claimed that Arshdeep is suffering from fitness issues and might miss the upcoming clash. The rumours started when PBKS Head of Sports Science, Andrew Leipus, mentioned that the staff discovered certain physical limitations in Arshdeep’s body.

He stated that Arshdeep has been managing physical issues, which led to fluctuations in his rhythm and performance during the IPL 2026. Now, the franchise has set aside all rumours regarding Arshdeep’s fitness.

Arshdeep Singh is fully fit- Punjab Kings

In an official statement, Punjab Kings informed that Arshdeep is completely fit and training with the squad.

“Contrary to reports, we would like to confirm that our leading fast bowler and highest wicket-taker, Arshdeep Singh, is fully fit and has been actively training with the squad,” the statement said.

“The team management is absolutely pleased with his progress, and he is raring to go as we head into a crucial contest of the tournament. His energy, rhythm, and commitment in the nets have been extremely encouraging, and we are confident that he will continue to play a key role for Punjab Kings moving forward as well,” it added.

As you know, Punjab have lost their last six matches in a row, and their chances of reaching the playoffs have become very slim. They are currently placed fourth in the points table with 13 points. In 13 matches, they have won 6 and lost 6, while one match was abandoned due to rain.

Meanwhile, PBKS will clash with Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in their last match of the league stage on May 23. They need to win the clash at any cost to keep their playoffs hopes alive.
