Pakistan Cricket Board has slammed ICC’s decision to replace Bangladesh in T20 World Cup 2026.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) took a huge step against the Bangladesh Cricket Team over their demand to not travel to India for T20 World Cup 2026. The governing body replaced them with Scotland, who now will follow the same schedule as that of Bangladesh.
Due to loggerheads between the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) over Mustafizur Rahman’s ouster from Kolkata Knight Riders’ (KKR) squad, the former refused to visit India for the T20 World Cup. They requested ICC to shift their matches to Sri Lanka, citing security issues for their players in India
However, ICC did not accept their demand and eventually decided to remove them from the multi-national tournament. Scotland, the next team according to the rankings, have joined Group C by replacing Bangladesh.
PCB to boycott clash against India in T20 World Cup as a mark of protest- Reports

As per a report by Geo TV, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is looking forward to the boycott clash against India as a mark of protest against Bangladesh’s ouster. Notably, PCB also supported BCB’s demand to relocate their matches out of India and voted in their favour in the official meeting over the matter.
PCB has blamed ICC for double standards as they changed India’s venue to Dubai in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, where Pakistan were the hosts of the tournament. However, they did not accept Bangladesh’s similar request
Moreover, PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi has also warned to boycott the T20 World Cup to oppose the injustice against Bangladesh. PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi had earlier stated that they would have a discussion over the matter with Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
“We are waiting for the prime minister to return. Bangladesh has been treated unfairly. I said the same in the board meeting of the International Cricket Council (ICC). You cannot have double standards, where one country can make whatever decision whenever and do the total opposite for another country,” Naqvi had stated over ICC’s decision.
“That is why we have taken the stand that Bangladesh is being treated unfairly and should be allowed to play the World Cup in any case. They are a major stakeholder, and this injustice should not be done. The thing is that Bangladesh is the same member as Pakistan. And our stance is that if you have done this favour with Pakistan and India, then you should do the same with Bangladesh,” he had added.
While Pakistan is highly unlikely to pull out of the entire tournament, they might not play against arch-rivals India. On Sunday, they announced their squad for the tournament. The India vs Pakistan clash is scheduled to take place on February 15 in Colombo. The Men-in-Green will play all of their matches in Sri Lanka.
