Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) are just one step away from becoming the finalists of the Indian Premier League 2026. The defending champions are set to clash with the Gujarat Titans (GT) in Qualifier 1 on May 26 in New Chandigarh.
Phil Salt’s return to India has come as a big boost for the side. However, he has not taken the field so far and is expected to be part of the playoffs. Salt opened the innings with Virat Kohli in the first six games.
He sustained a finger injury while fielding at the boundary in the clash against Delhi Capitals on April 18. As a result, he returned to the United Kingdom for recovery and management of his injury.
He recently rejoined the RCB squad in the tournament. His replacement Jacob Bethell failed to deliver, and ended up sustaining a finger injury recently. In such a scenario, Salt’s return as opener in the playoffs will be a big advantage for the defending champions.
