Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah picked up a 6-wicket haul against South Africa in Cape Town.

When South Africa walked in to bat on day two of the ongoing second test match against India at Newlands Stadium Cape Town, they would have hoped for a stellar middle-order performance in the second innings. Indian pace bowler Jasprit Bumrah had other plans and demolished through Proteas middle-order in the opening hour of the first session’s play on second day.

Jasprit Bumrah was in a mood to destroy South African batting line-up and gave India a smaller target to chase to equal the ongoing test series. Bumrah picked up 6 wickets in the second innings and completed his 9th five-wicket haul in test matches. A special fan was witnessing India’s ace pace bowler making African middle and lower order struggle with his pace.

‘Angad’ watching Jasprit Bumrah bowl

Jasprit Bumrah’s wife Sanjana Ganesan posted an Instagram story watching the game along with her four-month-old son Angad Bumrah. Angad was closely following and cheering for every moment when his father went up in the air to celebrate a wicket. This photo has gone viral on social media with Indian fans also cheering for Jasprit Bumrah.

Just two days later, Bumrah re-joined Indian camp and took part in Asia Cup 2023 in Sri Lanka. Bumrah has been in a great rhythm since his comeback.

Jasprit Bumrah’s six wicket-haul helped India restrict South Africa under a lead of 100 runs. India restricted South Africa for 176 runs as they finished the second innings with a lead of 78 runs. Team India need 79 runs to win the second test match in Cape Town and equal the ongoing series. Aiden Markram played one of the finest knocks in test cricket and scored his seventh test hundred.
