3 players who could replace Lockie Ferguson at PBKS if he is ruled out of IPL 2026

Lockie Ferguson will miss the start of IPL 2026 due to personal reasons.

New Zealand pacer Lockie Ferguson is expected to be a crucial member of Punjab Kings (PBKS) in Indian Premier League 2026. He has been part of the side since the 2025 edition and was retained in the squad for IPL 2026.

Last season, Ferguson started well by clinching five wickets in four games at an economy of 9.18. However, he sustained an injury in a clash against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and was ruled out of the tournament. He was later replaced by Kyle Jamieson for the rest of the tournament.

The right-arm pacer is set to miss the first few games of the upcoming season due to personal reasons. Following the birth of his child, he has decided to spend some time with his family before joining the PBKS squad for IPL 2026. Moreover, he is also doubtful about playing in the tournament. Below are three players who can replace Ferguson in PBKS squad if he is ruled out.

The South Africa pacer has played 14 games in the tournament and picked 15 wickets at an economy of 10.37 across two seasons. In his maiden edition in 2024 for Mumbai Indians (MI), he impressed with his performance by clinching 13 scalps in 10 matches.

He can be a good option to replace Ferguson.

3. Tom Curran

England pacer Tom Curran had a base price of INR 2 crore but went unsold in the auction. The right-arm pacer was picked by RCB in the 2024 edition, but was ruled out of the entire season due to a knee injury.
