LSG might release many players from their squad ahead of next season.
Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) gave a horrible performance in the Indian Premier League 2026. Rishabh Pant & Co. failed to qualify for the playoffs and were the first team to be eliminated from the tournament.
Out of 13 games, LSG have won just four and lost nine. They take the last spot in the points table with eight points and spend the majority of the season in the bottom-most position. Most of their key batters struggled, and they even struggled to win games at home.
In the batting department, Mitchell Marsh was the only stand-out batter for the side, with a century and three fifties. The rest of the batters completely failed to impress with their performance.
Some bowlers like Prince Yadav, Mohsin Khan and Mohammed Shami performed well, but the rest of the bowlers failed to make any special impact.
Rishabh Pant flopped with the bat in IPL 2026

Rishabh Pant completely flopped once again. In 13 games, he scored 286 runs at an average of 28.60 and a strike rate of 140.19. He scored a half-century in one game but got out cheaply on most occasions.
The wicket-keeper batsman also tried different batting positions; however, none of them worked for him. This is the second consecutive season where Pant failed to impress with his batting. After LSG’s poor season, the management might release big names from their squad ahead of IPL 2027.
