Several Indian players have won BCCI Cricketer of the Year awards multiple times.

Every year, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) honours many Indian players with prestigious awards in an official ceremony. Known as the BCCI Naman Awards, the event was first held in the 2006–07 season.

Various awards under different categories are presented to senior, junior and domestic players for their outstanding contributions, performances, or leadership throughout the year. Named after Polly Umrigar, one player gets Cricketer of the Year Award for his above par performance in international cricket.

Several Indian players have won Polly Umrigar Award on multiple occasions. On that note, below are five Indian players with the most BCCI Cricketer of the Year Award.

Former Indian spin legend Ravichandran Ashwin announced his retirement from international cricket in December 2024. The right-arm spinner was awarded BCCI Cricketer of the Year in 2012-13 and 2020-21. The off-spinner retired as India’s second-highest wicket-taker in international and Test cricket.

4. Sachin Tendulkar – 2

Batting legend Sachin Tendulkar also won the BCCI Cricketer of the Year Award on two occasions. He received the honour in the inaugural ceremony in the 2006-07 season and later in 2009-10.

Tendulkar announced his retirement from all forms of cricket in 2013. Tendulkar was the first batsman to score a double century in ODIs and still holds the record for most international centuries (100).

3. Shubman Gill – 2

India’s test and ODI captain Shubman Gill won the prestigious award for the first time in 2022-23, and then his second award came in 2026 for his performances in 2024-25.

Gill gave an impeccable performance in the test series against England in 2025, smacking 754 runs across five tests, including four centuries. He broke many records in the campaign and grabbed a lot of limelight with his batting heroics.

Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah has been named BCCI Cricketer of the Year three times. The right-arm pacer won the award for the first time in 2018-19 ceremony.

He was also rewarded in 2021-22 and 2023-24 seasons for his impeccable performance. Bumrah recently finished as the leading wicket-taker in T20 World Cup 2026.

Former Indian captain Virat Kohli tops this list with five awards in his kitty. The right-handed batsman was named international cricketer of the year by BCCI for the first time in the 2011-12 season.

He was later handed the award four consecutive times in 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2018. Kohli announced his retirement from test cricket in 2025 and T20Is in 2024. He is only active in the 50-over format.
