3 stars who could not find place in India A squad for T20 World Cup 2026 warm-up matches

Ayush Badoni will captain India A in the warm-up matches of the T20 World Cup 2026.

The T20 World Cup 2026 is set to entertain global cricket fans from February 7. Ahead of the tournament, fans can enjoy exciting warm-up matches between different teams. A total of 16 warm-up games will be played from February 2 to 6 ahead of the T20 World Cup.

India A are scheduled to play two warm-up matches- one against the USA on February 2 and the other against Namibia on February 6. Ayush Badoni has been appointed as the captain of the side, which comprises a few well-known players as well as IPL stars.

Players like Tilak Varma, Riyan Parag, Khaleel Ahmed, Ravi Bishnoi, and Priyansh Arya are part of the India A team. However, some talented players did not find a place in the team, and below are three of them.

3. Harsh Dubey

Harsh Dubey is a star bowling all-rounder. He is also the captain of Vidarbha in domestic cricket. The 23-year-old led Vidarbha to the VHT 2025-26 trophy last month.

He has also played a significant number of T20 matches for India A. Despite his impressive performance in domestic cricket, the left-arm spinner was overlooked for the India A squad.

2. Prabhsimran Singh

Prabhsimram Singh has already made a mark with his brilliant batting performances for Punjab Kings (PBKS) in IPL. He is an opener wicket-keeper batter known for his destructive batting.

The left-handed batsman has been part of the India A team in recent times. He had also recently played in the Ranji Trophy matches for Punjab, where he performed well.

However, N Jagadeesan and Urvil Patel were named as two wicketkeepers in the India A squad for warm-up matches of the T20 World Cup 2026.

1. Sai Sudharsan

Sai Sudharsan rocked with his performance for the Gujarat Titans (GT) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 last year, finishing as the leading run-scorer to win the Orange Cap.

Sudharsan is a powerful opening batter but can also settle in the middle-order. Since he is recovering from a rib injury sustained during the Vijay Hazare Trophy (VHT) 2025-26, he was not available for selection.
