Explained: How many points will India and Pakistan get if IND vs PAK Asia Cup 2023 Super Four match gets washed out

IND vs PAK Super Four clash in Asia Cup 2023 is likely to be washed out.

After a disappointing washed-out game between India and Pakistan in the group stage of Asia Cup 2023, fans were hoping for a complete game between these two teams on Sunday. Both teams qualified from their groups and were scheduled to play in super four clash on Sunday. The weather was pretty good at the start, but it turned dramatically, and the whole day was called off.

Team India were at 147/1 in 24.1 overs after an incredible start by Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill. Both openers took the attack to the bowlers and punished the loose balls. Gill made a 37-balls fifty and scored 58 off 52, including ten boundaries. On the other hand, Indian captain started slowly but got into his groove and smashed his 50th ODI fifty off 42 balls. Rohit made 56 runs out of 49 balls, including four maximums and six boundaries.

Here's what will happen if the IND vs PAK Super Four clash of the Asia Cup 2023 gets washed out on reserve day.

As per the weather update, it is not looking good, and there is rain predicted on reserve day in Colombo. Though the ground staff did an amazing job on Sunday after the rain stopped, there were some patches on the ground that didn't allow the game to go further. However, there are possible chances for rain on Monday.

Asian Cricket Council (ACC) announced a reserve day for only this match in super four and also for the finals. But the indications are not very good. However, if the rain washes out IND vs PAK contest on reserve day as well, then the game will end without a result.

In that case, according to the rule, both teams will share a point each in super four. It means Pakistan, who won their first game against Bangladesh, will end up with three points total and will need to win their last game against Sri Lanka to qualify. On the other hand, India will also get one point from this washed-out game and will have to win their two remaining games in super four against Sri Lanka and Bangladesh to qualify for the finals.
