IPL 2026 Points Table, Orange Cap & Purple Cap after match 5, LSG vs DC

The LSG vs DC, match 5 of IPL 2026, took place in Lucknow.

Delhi Capitals (DC) outplayed Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) by six wickets in their opening game of the Indian Premier League 2026. The encounter took place at Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.

After being asked to bat first, LSG failed to put a respectable total on the board. Opener Mitchell Marsh scored a decent knock of 35 runs, but key batters like Rishabh Pant, Aiden Markram, Ayush Badoni, and Nicholas Pooran got out cheaply.

Lungi Ngidi and T Natarajan clinched three wickets each to demolish LSG batters. They were bowled out for 141 runs, with a highest score of 36 runs by Abdul Samad.

In the chase, DC lost both openers, KL Rahul and Pathum Nissanka, for single digits. At the start, they lost four wickets in the power play. However, Sameer Rizvi (70*) scored an impeccable half-century to bring the team home in just 17.1 overs. Tristan Stubbs also supported him with his unbeaten 39 runs.
