SRH beat KKR by 65 runs to get their first win of the IPL 2026.
Kolkata Knight Riders have become the second team to lose a home game and the first team to lose consecutive games in the Indian Premier League 2026. The three-time champions took on Sunrisers Hyderabad on Thursday at Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
KKR won the toss and put SRH to bat first. It was a great start by the two SRH openers as they added 82 runs for the first wicket within 5.4 overs. Travis Head (46 off 21) and Abhishek Sharma (48 off 21) played great cameos.
Heinrich Klaasen scored a long-awaited fifty and made 52 off 35. Nitish Kumar Reddy (39 off 24) played a good hand and helped SRH to reach a total of 226/8. Blessing Muzarabani took 4/41 for KKR.
In reply, KKR got a flying start with 25 runs in the first over. They were 74/3 in the power play and kept losing wickets. Angkrish Raghuvanshi (52 off 29) scored his consecutive half-century.
Rinku Singh scored 35 off 25 in the middle. But KKR got all out for just 161 runs and lost the game by 65 runs. With that, SRH opened their account on the points table.
