On Tuesday, fans witnessed a thrilling game of cricket in WPL 2026 between Delhi Capitals (DC) and Gujarat Giants (GG) in Vadodara. The game went down to the wire, and the result came out on the last ball of the match. It started with DC-W winning the toss and deciding to bat first.

Sophie Devine (13 off 10) got out early, but it was followed by a 54-run stand between Anushka Sharma (39 off 25) and Beth Mooney. That was the only partnership they had. Mooney scored 58 off 46 balls. In the end, Tanuja Kanwar played a cameo of 21 off 11.

That helped GG-W to finish at 174/9 in the first innings. It was once again Sophie Devine with the final over, and she defended nine to help her team win.

DC-W were 100/6 while chasing, but then came a superb partnership between Sneh Rana (29 off 15) and Niki Prasad. They took DC-W to the touching distance with the pair adding 70 runs in just 31 balls.

But Devine’s last over pulled things back, and GG-W recorded a crucial win here. DC-W needed four runs off the last ball, and Niki Prasad got out for 47 off 24 balls off the final ball. GG-W came out victorious by just three runs.
