Gujarat Titans defeated DC to claim their first victory in IPL 2026.

Gujarat Titans (GT) registered their first victory of the Indian Premier League 2026 on Wednesday, April 8, by defeating Delhi Capitals (DC) at Arun Jaitley Stadium. GT won the close-fought clash by just one run.

After being asked to bat first, Gujarat piled up a mammoth total of 210/4 in the first innings. Jos Buttler (52) scored a quickfire half-century to provide a quick start to batting. Washington Sundar (55) and Shubman Gill (70) slammed half-centuries in the middle-overs to help GT reach a good total.

In the chase, openers KL Rahul and Pathun Nissanka etched an opening stand of 76 runs. KL Rahul went on to score 92 runs, but DC lost a few quick wickets towards the end. David Miller took them near the victory, with two runs needed off the last delivery.

However, Miller failed to make contact with the ball, and Prasidh Krishna propelled the Gujarat Titans to a close win by just one run.
