LSG recorded their second win of the IPL 2026.
Another game and another poor show by the Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL 2026. Lucknow Super Giants beat KKR in a close encounter on Thursday at Eden Gardens. The game began with LSG winning the toss and putting KKR to bat first.
KKR had an 84-run stand for the second wicket between Angkrish Raghuvanshi (45 off 33) and captain Ajinkya Rahane (41 off 24). An unbeaten 70-run stand between Cameron Green (32 off 24) and Rovman Powell (39 off 24) took KKR to a challenging total of 181/4 in 20 overs.
LSG lost both openers within five overs. Captain Rishabh Pant also got out cheaply for 10 runs. However, Ayush Badoni fought well and scored 54 off 34 balls. At one stage, Lucknow Super Giants were 104/5 and then 128/7. But then came Mukul Choudhary, who stole the win from KKR’s mouth.
The 21-year-old scored his maiden IPL fifty and made an unbeaten 54 off 27 balls, with seven sixes and two fours. He scored 30 runs in the last two overs to help LSG win the match, and KKR suffered another defeat from a winning position.

RR and PBKS are in the top two positions of the IPL 2026 points table with 6 and 5 points, respectively. RCB have won two matches and are placed third, followed by DC with four points.
LSG have moved to fifth place after a win on Thursday. SRH, GT and MI are next on the list with 2 points each. KKR have slipped to ninth place after the loss, and CSK are at the bottom of the table with no points.
