Two thrilling games took place in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 on Sunday, April 19. In the afternoon clash, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) defeated Rajasthan Royals (RR) to bag their first victory of the season after five losses.

In the low-scoring thriller at Eden Gardens, RR piled up 155/9 in the first innings despite a brilliant start by openers Yashasvi Jaiswal and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi. In the chase, KKR lost both openers for ducks, suffering a big blow at the start.

At one stage, they struggled at 85/6; however, Rinku Singh (53*) and Anukul Roy (29*) etched a fabulous partnership of 76 runs to drive the team to victory by four wickets.

In the evening clash, Punjab Kings (PBKS) showcased their batting might against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). PBKS batters Priyansh Arya (93) and Cooper Connolly (87) added 182 runs for the second wicket.

Punjab ended with 254/7 to record the highest team total in IPL 2026 so far. LSG started well by crossing 100 runs in 10 overs; however, they could not keep up with the momentum. Eventually, LSG ended with 200/5 runs, losing the clash by 54 runs.
