Every passing game is making it tough for Rishabh Pant & Co. On Wednesday, Lucknow Super Giants suffered their fourth consecutive defeat in the IPL 2026. They faced the Rajasthan Royals in a home game at Ekana Stadium.
Pant won the toss and asked RR to bat first. LSG had a great start with the ball as RR lost their top three in-form batters for just 32 runs. Yashasvi Jaiswal (22), Riyan Parag (20), Shimron Hetmyer (22), Donovan Ferreira (20), and Shubham Dubey (19*) all got starts.
Ravindra Jadeja played a fighting knock of 43* off 29 balls to take RR to 159/6. Mohammed Shami, Prince Yadav, and Mohsin Khan took two wickets each. Chasing the target, RR got off to a disastrous start, losing Ayush Badoni, Rishabh Pant and Aiden Markram all for ducks.
Mitchell Marsh showed some fighting spirit, 55 off 41. Apart from him, Nicholas Pooran (22) and Himmat Singh (15) scored in double figures. Jofra Archer took 3/20; Nandre Burger (2/27) and Brijesh Sharma (2/18) took two wickets each, helping RR record a 40-run win.

With a 40-run win over LSG, Riyan Parag and his men moved to second spot in the points table with ten points. On the other hand, LSG have dropped to ninth above KKR, who are at the bottom.
