IPL 2026 Points Table, Orange Cap & Purple Cap after match 38, LSG vs KKR

Punjab Kings remain at the top of the points table after the 38th match of IPL 2026.
Two exciting encounters took place in the Indian Premier League 2026 on Sunday, April 26, one of which featured a super over. In the afternoon game, Gujarat Titans (GT) crushed Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by eight wickets.
After being asked to bat first, CSK flopped with their batting show at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. With a lone half-century by captain Ruturaj Gaikwad (74*), they could only add 158/7 on the scoreboard. Gaikwad remained unbeaten till the end, but others completely failed to support him, with key batsmen getting out for single digits.
Sai Sudharsan (87), Shubman Gill (33), and Jos Buttler (39*) played a pivotal role in the chase, driving Gujarat to victory in just 16.4 overs by eight wickets.
In the evening encounter, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) locked horns at Ekana Cricket Stadium. In a low-scoring clash, KKR piled up 155/7. After KKR suffered a batting collapse at the start, Rinku played a fabulous knock of 83*.
Despite a low target, LSG batters failed with their teamwork from the start, and none of them could score a half-century. They could not build partnerships at crucial phases. In the final over, Kartik Tyagi could not defend 16 runs, and Mohammed Shami hit a six on the final delivery to level the scores in a surprising manner.
The match went to the Super Over, which was not thrilling as LSG lost both their wickets in just one run. Knight Riders eventually won the game with a boundary by Rinku Singh on the first delivery.
