RCB take the top spot in the points table after the 55th match of IPL 2026.
Delhi Capitals (DC) finally made a comeback after successive losses in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026. They defeated Punjab Kings (PBKS) by three wickets at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala on Monday to move to seventh spot in the points table.
PBKS had a brutal start to their innings as Priyansh Arya (56) came out all guns blazing, hitting six on the first ball of the innings. He hit a magical half-century and added 78 runs for the opening stand with Prabhsimran Singh (18)
Captain Shreyas Iyer (59*) also played a brilliant hand and was well supported by Cooper Connolly (38) as they cashed on the platform set by openers. They etched a third wicket stand of 83 runs that put more pressure on DC.
Iyer hit a vital half-century, while Suryansh Shedge (21*) hit some big blows in the end that powered PBKS to a total of 210 for five.
In the chase, DC didn’t have a great start to their innings as they lost both their openers for single digits. Things got worse for Delhi when Sahil Parakh and Tristan Stubbs also fell and they were left reeling at 74 for four.
However, captain Axar Patel (56) and David Miller (51) took matters into their own hands and tilted the game in their team’s favour. The Patel-Miller duo added 64 runs together before Ashutosh Sharma (24) and Madav Tiwari (18*) completed the unfinished job. They hit big sixes and helped Delhi chase the target in 19 overs.
