RCB take the top spot in the points table after the 62nd match of IPL 2026.

Two exciting games took place in the Indian Premier League 2026 on Sunday (May 17). In the afternoon clash, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) defeated Punjab Kings (PBKS) by 23 runs to book a berth in the playoffs.

With half-centuries from Virat Kohli (58) and Venkatesh Iyer (73*), RCB posted 222/4 in the first innings. PBKS lost a few key batsmen early on. Shashank Singh (56) scored a fighting half-century, but they could only reach 199/8.

In the evening clash, Delhi Capitals (DC) defeated Rajasthan Royals (RR) by five wickets. Batting first, RR made a brilliant start but suffered a batting collapse towards the end, finishing with 193/8.

In the chase, openers KL Rahul (56) and Abishek Porel (51) scored half-centuries. Captain Axar Patel (34*) and Ashutosh Sharma (18*) also made crucial contributions, propelling DC to a pleasing five-wicket victory.

RCB grab the top spot in the points table with 18 points and have qualified for the playoffs. Gujarat Titans, SRH, and Punjab Kings take the next three spots.

Rajasthan Royals and CSK are next with 12 points each, followed by Delhi Capitals and Kolkata Knight Riders. Mumbai Indians and Lucknow Super Giants take the last two positions and have been eliminated from the tournament.
