Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) defeated Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by five wickets in the 63rd match of the Indian Premier League 2026 on May 18. CSK won the toss and opted to bat first, but they failed to post a challenging total.

Sanju Samson (27) and Ruturaj Gaikwad (15) could not provide a good start once again. Kartik Sharma (32) and Dewald Brevis (44) scored crucial knocks, as none of the batters could hit a fifty. CSK could only reach 180/7.

Pat Cummins clinched three wickets while Sakib Hussain took two scalps. In the chase, SRH lost opener Travis Head cheaply. Ishan Kishan (70) and Heinrich Klaasen (47) built a crucial partnership of 75 runs for the third wicket, which set the platform for SRH‘s victory.

With a brilliant half-century, Kishan played a key role in Hyderabad’s victory and their passage to the playoffs.
