PBKS are still in contention to qualify for the IPL 2026 playoffs.

Punjab Kings (PBKS) defeated Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) by seven wickets in the 68th match of the Indian Premier League 2026 on May 23. With this win, PBKS finally ended their six-match losing streak and also kept their playoffs hopes alive.

In this do-or-die match, Shreyas Iyer won the toss and decided to bowl first. Josh Inglis’ 72 off 44 balls, followed by Ayush Badoni’s quickfire 43 off 18 balls, helped LSG post 196. Arshdeep Singh conceded 52 runs in three overs while Marco Jansen and Yuzvendra Chahal picked up two wickets each.

Chasing a target of 197, PBKS lost two early wickets. However, Prabhsimran Singh’s and Shreyas Iyer’s 140-run partnership helped last year’s runners-up get into a comfortable position. PBKS skipper Iyer later completed his maiden IPL century with a maximum, sealing the victory for his side in 18 overs.
