Rajasthan Royals became the 4th team to qualify for the playoffs.

The last two games of the league stage took place in Indian Premier League 2026 on Sunday, May 24. In the afternoon clash, Rajasthan Royals (RR) defeated Mumbai Indians (MI) by 30 runs at Wankhede Stadium.

With the victory, RR became the fourth team to book a berth in the playoffs. Asked to bat first, RR posted 205/8 and later restricted MI at 175/9, thanks to Jofra Archer’s brilliance with ball.

The evening clash between KKR and DC was a dead-rubber game, which DC won by 40 runs. After being asked to bat first, they posted 203/5 with a half-century by KL Rahul (60) and crucial knocks by Axar Patel (39) and David Miller (28).

KKR captain Ajinkya Rahane (63) scored a fifty but the rest of the batters failed to support him. They were bowled out for just 163 runs, losing by 40 runs. Lungi Ngidi and Kuldeep Yadav clinched three-wicket hauls for DC.

After the league stage, RCB and GT have finished in the top spot in the IPL 2026 points table with 18 points each. SRH and RR are next with 18 and 16 points, respectively. These four teams have booked a berth in the playoffs.

Punjab Kings and DC finished in the fifth and sixth spots in the final standings, with 15 and 14 points respectively. KKR and CSK are next in the 7th and 8th spots. MI and LSG ended in the last two positions with eight points each.
