Harry Brook scored 99 runs in the first innings of the first ENG vs IND test.
England Cricket Team player Harry Brook had a great outing with the bat in the first innings of the ongoing first test against the Indian Cricket Team. The Headingley in Leeds is hosting the series opener of the five-match series between the teams.
Brook was one of the top performers with the bat for England in the first innings. After India posted a gigantic total of 471 runs on the board, the hosts came up with a brutal batting effort. Ollie Pope (106) hit a magnificent century, but it was Brook who caught the attention of many with his innings.
Brook played the Indian bowlers aggressively and slammed them all over the park. He respected the good balls and also charged down the track to some loosners, making sure that he kept his team in the hunt in the game.
With the way Harry Brook was playing, he deserved a hundred, but he faced a heartbreak as he got on 99. He fell into the short ball ploy of Prasidh Krishna and was caught as he attempted to get to his milestone with six.
While his heroics with the bat were lauded by many, Harry Brook also caught the attention of many with his antics during the second innings of India. When Krishna was batting, the England batter got into the ears of the batter and helped his team get the crucial wicket.

As Prasidh Krishna was batting, Harry Brook asked: “Can you hit big sixes?”
To this, the Indian pacer said: “If I had to, I would be called Brook.”
But on the very next ball, the pacer attempted the big shot and was caught as the Indian second innings ended on 364 runs.
Here’s the video:
India set a massive target of 371 runs for England to chase. Harry Brook will be holding a key for the team in the chase. The right-hander has been one of the best batters for the team in tests over the last few years. He would be keen to take his team to glory.
