ICC Women's Cricket World Cup 2025
Pratika Rawal equals world record for fastest to 1000 runs in Women’s ODIs

Pratika Rawal achieved the record as India clashed with New Zealand in ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025.
India opener Pratika Rawal has equaled a world record during her team’s ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 match versus New Zealand at the Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai.
India are under great pressure in their game against New Zealand since it is a must-win for them to advance to the semi-finals. They have lost their last three matches from a winning position and must defeat New Zealand to keep their prospects of reaching the knockout stage alive.
India made one change, bringing in Jemimah Rodrigues for Amanjot Kaur to strengthen their batting, while New Zealand went in unchanged. Pratika Rawal and Smriti Mandhana opened the innings for India and added 212 runs for the first wicket.

Rawal’s remarkable start to her WODI career also helped her equal a record, with Lindsay Reeler of Australia as the quickest to 1,000 runs.
Despite concerns about her strike rate, Rawal has had a fantastic start to the World Cup, scoring 37, 31, 37, 75, and 6 in the first five games. Rawal, who replaced Shafali Varma, has already demonstrated her consistency, with runs at an average of nearly 48.
Pratika reached a big career milestone in the 23rd innings of her ODI career, surpassing Meg Lanning, Laura Wolvaardt, and Mithali Raj, among others. She only needed 12 runs to attain the milestone, which she accomplished easily despite starting slowly with the bat.
She has also been the fastest Indian player to reach 1000 runs in 50-over cricket, overtaking Mithali Raj and Deepti Sharma, who did so in 29 innings. Harmanpreet Kaur and Smriti Mandhana of India scored first 1000 runs in ODIs in 30 and 33 innings, respectively.
