Prithvi Shaw had an altercation with Musheer Khan after his dismissal.
Young India batter Prithvi Shaw stole the limelight for his antics during the ongoing three-day friendly match between Mumbai and Maharashtra. The match between the two teams is underway at Maharashtra Cricket Association (MCA) Stadium in Pune, which commenced on Tuesday (7th October).
Shaw, who was part of the Mumbai team in the previous season, joined the Maharashtra ahead of the 2025-26 domestic season. The two teams, ahead of the Ranji trophy 2025-26, were involved in a friendly game and Shaw made sure that he cashes on the good batting wicket. The right-hander hammered 181 runs off 220 balls with 21 fours and three sixes.
He also etched a 305-run opening stand with Arshin Kulkarni. Shaw was looking all set for a double ton but his stay at the crease was cut short by Musheer Khan in the 74th over. However, as he got out, Musheer allegedly sledged him by saying “Thank you”.

Shaw took offence to the send-off, which led to the altercation. He was also seen raising his bat and attempted to hold the collar of the Mumbai spinner after being subjected to sledging. On-field umpire stepped in to pacify Shaw and escorted him away from the Mumbai players.
Speaking about the incident with Cricbuzz, Maharashtra captain Ankit Bhawne said, “It’s a practice match. They are all former teammates. Such things happen. It’s all ok now and there is no issue.”

Shaw recently was granted a no-objection certificate from Mumbai in June to change his domestic team. Ahead of joining the Maharashtra team, he thanked Mumbai for their support over the years.
“At this stage of my career, I believe joining the Maharashtra team will help me grow further as a cricketer,” “I am deeply grateful to the Mumbai Cricket Association for the opportunities and support I have received over the years,” he had said.
After joining Maharashtra, Shaw played in the Buchi Babu Trophy 2025, which was hosted by Tamil Nadu Cricket Association this year. The 25-year-old last played for India in July 2021.
