Prithvi Shaw likely to return in the IPL 2024 after a rigorous rehabilitation

Prithvi Shaw suffered a knee injury during his county stint with Northamptonshire.
Discarded Indian opening batter Prithvi Shaw is currently out of the action due to a knee injury he sustained during his county cricket stint with Northamptonshire. After a playing a few record-breaking knocks for the Northamptonshire, Shaw got injured and was ruled out of the entire season. He also missed the ongoing Ranji Trophy season for Mumbai due to his injury.
Now, Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has decided to intensify his training over the next three weeks. Shaw is expected to be fit before IPL 2024 and play for Delhi Capitals in the upcoming season. Prithvi Shaw is likely to go under multiple drills and undergo agility and acceleration test. These tests will focus how much pressure can his knee take during a game.
Prithvi Shaw requires an additional month
Sources withing BCCI suggested that, the 24 years old opening batter will require additional one month before making a comeback in the field. Shaw is part of the rehabilitation process at the National Cricket Academy (NCA). Prithvi Shaw was spotted having batting drills recently, he is doing well in batting and fielding drills during his rehabilitation.
BCCI medical team will be checking on the robustness of Shaw’s knee while handling increased acceleration, direction changes and agility exercises. Shaw will also be taking part in a few practice games before getting a full clearance for a return. Mumbai Cricket team are hopeful of Prithvi Shaw making his comeback in the knockout rounds of Ranji Trophy season 2023-24.
Pacer Mohammed Shami is all set to fly to London for a surgery. Shami is out of the action since the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 in India. Shami missed the two match test series against South Africa. He is also not part of Indian camp for upcoming test series against England. India will be playing their first test against England in Hyderabad on 25th January.
