Prithvi Shaw set to miss three months of Cricket action due to knee injury

Prithvi Shaw injured his knee while playing for Northamptonshire in County One-day championship.
Discarded Indian opener Prithvi Shaw suffers another setback just before Indian domestic season is about to commence. Prithvi Shaw sustained a knee injury while playing for Northamptonshire in England County One-Day Championship. In the latest update, Prithvi will be missing out on sizable games for Mumbai in the upcoming three months as he is also looking at surgery as an option to treat his injury. Shaw got injured while playing against Durham and had to come back to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bangalore for treatment.
Surgery remains the last option for Prithvi Shaw
Prithvi Shaw first consulted a surgeon in London before moving to NCA, where the medical team is working hard. But if anything doesn’t work out at NCA, Prithvi Shaw will be left with only surgery. Indian domestic season will resume on the 1st of October, when Saurashtra will be taking on the rest of India in the Irani Trophy. Mumbai Cricket Association is also awaiting an update as the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy is also approaching. Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy will begin on October 16.
Prithvi Shaw missing out on action for the next three months will also make Mumbai Cricket a little worried about his Ranji Trophy chances. Ranji Trophy will commence in January 2024, and Shaw will be away till December 2023. Prithvi Shaw remains Mumbai’s X-Factor player in each format. He has been doing a great job for his side in the domestic structure. Mumbai Cricket Association will seek clarity before their squad selection in the upcoming domestic tournaments.
Prithvi Shaw made a blistering start in the county season for Northamptonshire. Shaw smashed two centuries in four innings and also smashed a double century to become the first Asian batter to score more than 200 runs in a county one-day game. Shaw then again scored a century against Durham and was looking set for another big score, but an injury prompted him to opt out of the season. Shaw will again join Northamptonshire next season after Indian Premier League.
