Punjab Kings (PBKS) will play their first match of IPL 2025 on March 25 against Gujarat Titans (GT).

Punjab Kings (PBKS) are one of the three teams, alongside Delhi Capitals (DC) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), who have participated in all seasons of the Indian Premier League (IPL) but have not won the trophy even once.

PBKS made major changes before the IPL 2025 mega auction. The franchise appointed legendary Australian captain Ricky Ponting as their head coach and then bought Shreyas Iyer for a whopping amount of INR 26.75 crores to lead the team.

The Kings will play their first match of IPL 2025 on March 25 against Gujarat Titans (GT). PBKS will play 14 matches in the league stage, with seven at their home ground and seven away. Their last league stage match is against Rajasthan Royals on May 16 in Rajasthan.

Punjab Kings in the IPL 2024

PBKS had an underwhelming campaign in IPL 2024, finishing ninth with 10 points with five wins in 14 matches. Despite their poor performance throughout the season, the Kings unearthed a gem in Shashank Singh in the middle order.
