Quinton de Kock slammed hundred in his 150th ODI game.

South Africa have been successful in the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 so far. And one prime reason for their success is the form of opener Quinton de Kock. The southpaw started the tournament with two consecutive hundreds against Sri Lanka and Australia and helped his team win the game. He is also the highest-run scorer for South Africa in the tournament.

Adding to that, Quinton de Kock has now slammed his third hundred of the competition in the ongoing game against Bangladesh. The game between South Africa and Bangladesh is underway at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. It started with South Africa winning the toss and deciding to bat first. Proteas lost two early wickets for 36 runs in 7.5 overs but have recovered completely.

South Africa had a 131-runs stand for the third wicket between Quinton de Kock and Aiden Markram. Markram got out after scoring 60 off 69 balls, and with seven boundaries, Shakib Al Hasan got his wicket. But De Kock kept scoring runs and hitting boundaries on the other end. He reached his 20th ODI hundred and third in this tournament in just five games.

Notably, it was also the 150th ODI match for Quinton de Kock, and just ahead of the start of the game, he was given a cap from the team management. The left-hander has certainly made it big with a hundred in his 150th ODI match. With this, he also becomes the first South African to score three hundred in a single World Cup edition.

De Kock scored 100 against Sri Lanka and 109 against Australia. AB de Villiers is only the other South African with two hundreds 2011 World Cup. Jacques Kallis has played most ODIs for his country (323). South Africa are in full control of the game, and they are looking for another big total in Mumbai. With the way they are going, it looks like another 350-plus target is on the way.
